studio project conducted in two phases: designing a non-denominational sacred space (airport chapel), and designing a larger airport to house the aforementioned chapel.
serving as an exploration in liminality, the Rebirth airport and chapel employ distortion in spatial volume, materiality, and light exposure in order to shatter visitor expectations, facilitating a continual journey of life, spiritual death, and rebirth. resultingly, participants build resilience after undergoing several trials of spatial confusion, commenting on the temporal state of human existence.
